NXP i.MX 8M with 88W8987, K32W061/41, EdgeLock SE05x
The i.MX 8M Mini family is NXP’s latest application processors that offers Embedded Linux and Android support. Matter support is enabled in the Yocto BSP for the device. The i.MX 8M Mini family offers ideal application processors configurations to implement Matter Controllers, Matter Commissioners, advanced Matter Devices, and Thread Border Routers. Matter is supported over Wi-Fi, with the NXP Wi-Fi drivers included in the Yocto BSP. The 88W8987 Wi-Fi module included in the i.MX 8M Mini EVK is used by default, however all of the Wi-Fi SoCs in mass-production from NXP can be used with the included drivers. Thread Border Router support is provided with OpenThread stack. The K32W061/41 radio coprocessors (RCP) are used to provide the Thread Border Router network interface. The EdgeLock SE05x (SE050/SE051) secure element family offers the most advanced security and cryptography performance for a Matter device.
